Citizens of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Kazakhstan need an entry visa to enter the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany. Today, we will give you a brief overview of the types of visas for short-term travel and long-term stays and for moving to Germany.

Short trip to Germany

A Schengen visa is suitable for a short trip to Germany (duration of your stay not exceeding 90 days). It is a type of visa for guest and tourist trips. Staying for a longer period of time, moving to Germany with a Schengen visa is not possible, because this type of visa cannot be extended while in the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany. In order to move, immigration to Germany requires a national visa.

Long stay and relocation to Germany
The type of visa suitable for relocation, immigration to Germany is the national visa. The national visa is intended for trips lasting more than 90 days. Purpose of the trip: work, studies, marriage, reunification with spouse. If you come to Germany with a national visa, you can extend it without leaving the country by contacting the Ausländerbehörde.

One of the peculiarities of obtaining a national visa
In order to be issued a national visa, a visa for marriage or for reunification with your spouse, you need to prove your language skills (German level). In the case of marriage and family reunification visas, the required language level is A1 (basic level). Before applying for a visa you will need to take a language examination and a certificate. This certificate must be submitted with the documents required to apply for a visa.

Attention! Not all language schools will be accepted for the issuance of visas. Check the documents required for visa application and pay special attention to the description of the required language certificate.

Why is it worth learning a language as early as the dating stage?

• Studying a foreign language and preparing for the exam will take time. How long it takes to learn German (even at level A1) depends on your personal abilities, motivation, free time and the possibility to study at a language school or with a teacher.
• It is a great advantage to know German when you are getting to know German. There is a big difference between speaking a foreign language, even at a basic level, and not having any language skills at all. Not all men are ready to communicate through electronic translators. If you speak German, you will find it much easier to talk to men, you will get more men interested in getting to know you and they won’t feel ashamed of the language barrier 😉
